Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon - Normal is Perfect
Life was perfect for the Lambert family from Vernon, BC — until it wasn’t. One morning, out of the blue, their four-year-old son Bryce was diagnosed with leukemia and needed to begin treatment immediately in Vancouver.
At Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon, they found more than a place to stay — they found a home away from home and an inspiring new normal. Over the course of 309 nights, the House gave them the space to be together as a family, to hold onto joy, and to carry each other through the hardest moments of their lives.
We told their story in a short film that premiered at A Night to Dream Gala, helping raise over $650,000 to support families across BC and the Yukon. Shot over two days at the House, it captured not just the weight of what they’ve been through — but the laughter, the grace, and the quiet power of simply being together.
At its heart, this film is about something simple and profound: in the middle of medical chaos, normal is perfect - and what RMH helps make possible for families like the Lamberts. I directed and produced the film, working closely with the family to shape something honest, warm, and true to them. Their trust made the story what it is.
